Timekeeping & Routine
This section will look at timekeeping & routines, why they are important and how to keep on top of them.
A routine is a set of things you do each day or each week and can directly improve your health and wellbeing.
It’s a good idea to wake yourself up on time so you can get to work, appointments or activities without rushing.
Use an alarm (can be found on your phone), a vibration alarm (good if noise can be stressful or uncomfortable), or a text or a call from someone you trust, like your keyworker.
Watch the video below for more information on improving your daily routine:
Keep your morning steps simple and in the same order each day. This will make it easier to be consistent with your routine.
Don’t overdo your schedule and make sure to leave some free time to stay flexible, because last minute things can always come up.
Keep reminders of your routine! For example, use your phone to set reminders or alarms, or print off your routine or a list of daily tasks and leave this somewhere you will always see it.
Break down everything you need to do into smaller steps and give yourself small rewards for completing them so it doesn’t feel too overwhelming.
